Day 1 — Scenic SGR Journey & Mikumi Safari
Your adventure begins with early morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar Es Salaam around 04:30 AM, followed by transfer to the SGR station in the city center. Our local guide will assist you through check-in and travel procedures before boarding the modern express train departing approximately 06:00 AM.
Enjoy a scenic and comfortable rail journey to Morogoro arriving around 07:40 AM, where you will meet your professional safari driver-guide for breakfast before continuing to Mikumi National Park by road.
The drive to Mikumi takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, passing through landscapes connected to Tanzania’s southern highlands and neighboring countries including Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park:
Day 2 — Full Day Safari Experience
After an early breakfast, continue with an extended game drive through Mikumi National Park from morning until sunset.
Explore diverse wildlife habitats and enjoy opportunities to spot:
A hot buffet lunch will be served during the day, with time to relax briefly before continuing your afternoon and sunset safari experience.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3 — Maasai Cultural Experience & Return to Dar Es Salaam
After breakfast around 08:30 AM, visit a traditional Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience. Learn about Maasai traditions, visit a traditional home, participate in local songs and dances, wear traditional attire, and hear stories from one of East Africa’s most iconic indigenous communities.
Later, transfer back to Morogoro SGR station for your return train journey departing approximately 14:25 PM and arriving in Dar Es Salaam around 16:10 PM.
Upon arrival, transfer back to your hotel within Dar Es Salaam city center.
